William Charles Waldron passed away from pneumonia on April 9, 2020 at the age of 88 years old. He was born to Charles and Katherine O'Neil-Waldron on January 22, 1932 in Queens, New York. Raised partly in Long Island, he married Alexa Esther Zimmet of Brooklyn, New York in 1952. They relocated to the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York to raise their 5 children; later relocating to Katy, Texas. He is survived by Alexa, his loving and devoted wife of 67 years; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Bruce Abrams, of Woodstock, New York; daughter, Laurie Lujan of Katy, Texas; son, Mark Waldron, of Katy, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, David and Nancy Waldron, of Grand Junction, Colorado; and son, William Waldron, of Oxon Hill, Maryland. Bill is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
William was a proud member of the Dutch Reformed Church; holding religion and philosophy in high regard, he was known for his words of wisdom as well as his willingness to listen to and help others. Bill was a 32nd degree Freemason in the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He belonged to the New York Carpenters Union and practiced carpentry in both upstate New York and Katy, Texas. Known for his quality of work, notable projects included the Levittown NY Housing Development, the River Oaks palace for the Sheik of Saudi Arabia and the estate of George Wesley Bellows.
Our beloved William is with our “Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”. We will miss him dearly but we will meet him again in Heaven.
