He was born in New York, one of the sons of the late Douglas Blue and his mother Carolyn Blue. Growing up with several brothers and a military lifestyle, he quickly grew to favor the Navy and Marines.
After receiving his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the US Naval Academy, he entered the Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer & also obtained the specialty of NBC Defense Officer. He held numerous progressive Command & Staff positions during his tenure.
He was a robust strategic thinker and a proactive, value-driven leader with a wide range of automotive, aerospace, energy and diversified industrial skills. This spanned well over 25 years from companies such as Ford Motor Company, Continental, Eaton, Gulf States Toyota, and Baker Hughes.
William is survived by his wife Ilona Blue; mother Carolyn Blue of McKinney, TX; siblings Douglas Blue of Clear Lake, TX, and Scott Blue of Las Vegas, NV; children Rachael Marciniak of Seguin, TX and William Blue Jr of Conroe, TX; step children Anna Blue and Adelina Blue; and grandchild Damian Marciniak.
He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Blue and brother Donald Blue.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 6th from 10:00 a.m. till 13:00 p.m. prior to the service at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
