William Stavert Akeroyd, 82, of Livingston, Texas was born on September 19, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully on December 4, 2023 in Livingston, TX. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
William was a proud Navy Veteran who served his country with honor and distinction. He was a hardworking man who dedicated over 25 years of his life’s work to Southwestern Bell. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, golfing, and fishing.
William was preceded in his death by his parents, Redmond and Odessa Akeroyd, his brother, Robert (Bob) Akeroyd and his wife Jan Akeroyd. William is survived by his sister Claudia McQueen and her husband Mike; his daughter, Teresa Akeroyd Scott and her husband Matt; his daughter Dorothy and her husband Jeff; his grandsons Michael Akeroyd and Glen Haneline Jr; his granddaughter Melissa Kuzniar; his great-grandchildren Kaeli, Hayden and Hayley; and many other family members and friends.
William was a kind and generous man who touched lives of many. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 10:30 am with recitation of the rosary at 11:00 am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman Street, Houston, Texas 77018. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and the Rite of Committal at 1:15 pm at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive.
