Wanda Louise Dunn was born on November 6, 1941 in Calumet, Oklahoma to Armond Eangel Watts and France Louise Bushers. She graduated with a B.A. from the University of Texas, Austin. Wanda worked as an international flight attendant at Pan Am Airlines and an RN at Ben Taub Emergency Room in Houston, TX. She was also a proud member of the Assistance League of Houston, the “Queen of Ole Miss Rebel Hearts”, a member of the Pan Am “Clipped Wings Club”, and a private cooking club. Most importantly, she was a proud and loving mother.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents Armond Eangel Watts and France Louise Bushers, husband Milby “Dow” Dunn, grandparents Roy Lee and Eva Lena Bushers, sister Candy Gifford, and cousins, Gary Tinsley, Glen Tinsley, Melvin Tipton, Shelia Helms, and Judy Hampton.
She is survived by her sons Milby D. Dunn II and John W. Dunn, family Jim & Raisin Schwerdfeger, Ricky and Beth Schwerdfeger, Chris & Sarah Ivey, Blake & Lauren Gillsepie, Colton & Cory Weingarden, Mathew and Gigi Coburn, John Gifford Sr., John Gifford, and Candy Gifford.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of St. John’s the Divine, Chapel, 2450 River Oaks Blvd, Houston, TX 77019 on September 15, 2023 at 11:00. An interment will follow for immediate family only. Both services will be officiated by Reverend Dr. Doug Richnow.
