Virginia Elizabeth Reed

Virginia was the oldest of three children born to Margaret Head Marshman and Phillip Douglas Marshman. She was the “boss” of her younger brothers, Billy and Phillip Marshman, always protectively mothering over them.

Virginia is a charter member of Rice Temple Baptist Church and also of West University Baptist Church.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Sandra Harvey and her husband Ray; her son Scott Reed and his wife Pat; her nephew Robert Marshman and his wife Leslie; 10 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great, Great Grandchild.

The Reed and Harvey families would like to offer a sincere thank you to the Hospice Care Team of Texas City and all Virginia’s caregivers, Eva, Linda, Mildred, Joyce and Adrienne, who all so loving cared for Virginia and offered extended support to the family during many difficult times.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 1st from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with funeral services following at 11:00 am and interment at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Rice Temple Baptist Church Building Fund or to the charity of your choice.
