Hey brother, I just wanted to write to you. You’re never forgotten. Time to time I remember the days we hung out together. I  recently visited Hawaii and man wherever I go I still remember the times we kicked it with the group. Miss you as always. Hope someday I’ll see you again.

Tuan was a very nice and kind friend.  I had him as a class mate in math class at Rancho Alamitos High.  He kindly attempted to help me with math (to no avail due to myself), and I even went over to his house once in these attempts at mathematical proficiency. I laughingly remember passing by a swim meet with my dad and we saw Tuan in last place, I believe, looking almost like he was going to drown. I felt sorry for him but took note of his determination to try his hardest, regardless of the outcome. He even taught me a phrase or two of Vietnamese, I try to use every now and then.  My sincerest condolences  to his family. Sometimes when I am back visiting my family in Garden Grove, and drive by his old neighborhood on Dale St., I think of him and his kindness and willingness to help me, his friend.

I met Tuan at Rancho! We had 6th period basketball together for several years! Tuan was always so nice and an extremely supportive friend! His smile will never be forgotten! 

There’s not a day I don’t think about how you could be here with us today. I miss you man. I hope you are enjoying your time in Heaven. Take care brother.

Ông Bạn Già...is what I called you. We had so much fun poking at each other from one cooking group to another on Facebook. I remember your dishes were filled with so much love and care for your family...

I was happy to see you take your family on a trip before your passing and thrilled to know you wanted to make more trips for Jacob.

I've barely met you then, but you called & comforted me on my fear of mice and told me to imagine they are cute like Mickey.  Hehe  It didn't work but I appreciated your effort and compassion.  It still get a kick thinking back the days we all stayed together in Hawaii and Massachusetts.  You were moving a sofa in that you purchased thru Craigslist at midnight.  We weren't sure what all the commotion was about and how you choose such a wise time.  Lol  You took us to see the moon reflection twice but we only saw clouds and fogs.  When any of the girls screamed in the house, you were one of the first to show up to help us get rid of the centipedes or mouse.  Your silly jokes quack me up.  You drove us to rotation sites, grocery shopping, and to new adventures.  Your bun mam stinks the whole apartment but it tasted delicious.  You taught me how to cook many Viet dishes like bo la lot.  You loved singing and I can still hear your deep voice.  Please rest in peace!  You will be forever missed by all your former housemates and classmates.  We will carry on with the fun and sweet memories of you.

I barely knew him from my 2-year Rancho years, but being a foreign student from Japan with little understanding of my surroundings, I always appreciated his presence of being really kind and friendly in school. Thank you so much for easing my tension, Tuan! I will light the incense thinking of you today….. Looking forward to seeing you in the future wherever you are. Until then!
