Anthony George Ferraro, better known as “Tony”, was born on December 18, 1928 to Sadie and Joseph Ferraro. As a native Houstonian, Tony peacefully passed away on February 13, 2012 at Memorial Hermann Hospital at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ferraro, son, Karl Ferraro and wife Lynn Ferraro, daughter-in-law, Ana Ferraro, brother, Joe Ferraro and wife Jean Ferraro, sisters, Mary Cuccia and Josephine Cattaia, granddaughters, Jamie Ferraro and Julie Ferraro, grandsons, Jason Ferraro and Joshua Ferraro, step-daughters, Toni and Dean Hossler from Huffman, TX, Patti and Kenny Morris from Humble, TX, Carol and Obie Culp from Humble, TX, Lisa Brown from Roger, TX, and stepson, Robbie Stidham from Magnolia, TX.
His legacy of being a family patriarch and strong willed man will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones. His spirited-nature uplifted and enhanced the lives of those he surrounded. As an easy going, generous and personable man, dedication to family and his Italian/Sicilian heritage were the utmost important. He had a zeal for dancing, country music, and horses. As a man of courage and servitude, he served his country proudly in the U.S. army as a member of the Elite Thunderbirds in the Korean War. Following his military duties, he worked as a machinist for the U.S. railroad system for forty plus years until retirement. Even throughout his latter years, he continued to embrace others with his country western spirit and charisma as he danced almost every Sunday at local country clubs. Although we will miss him dearly, his love and memory will carry on in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association will be greatly appreciated.
