Thomas C. Sugg, 70, from Crosby, TX, passed away on Friday, May 11,2012, after complications from heart surgery. Thomas was born in Brunswick, Missouri on September 19,1941 and grew up in Independence, MO. He graduated in 1959 from Van Horn High School where he participated in many sports, band and orchestra.
Tom served in the Army from 1967-1973. While in the Army, he was a 1LT with the Military Police at Fort Irwin, CA and finished his career as a Reservist. He was a Police Officer in both Independence, MO and Oxnard, CA where he met his wife, Pamela Magas Sugg. They moved to Indiana County, PA and he worked for various businesses, including becoming a Mechanic for Magas Welding, Inc. in Commodore PA, and as a Mechanical Engineer for R&P coal company in Indiana County, PA for over 20 years. He also taught at the Indiana Vocational School as a Mine Mechanic Repair Teacher. After his retirement he worked as a driver for TMC trucking in Des Moines, IA and Creps United Publishing in Indiana PA.
He moved to Crosby, TX in 2004 to be closer to his children and grandchildren and worked for Crosby School District, and most recently worked as Assistant Manager at Park N Fly at the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston TX.
He was a lifetime Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed playing basketball, softball, baseball, and played in Indiana County pool leagues, and won many awards and trophies in all of the sports.
He is survived by his wife, his daughter, Branda Sugg Suther and her husband Rick, his son, Scott Sugg, and long-time girlfriend, Vanessa, and 3 grandchildren, Jade Diane Sugg, Cayson Lane Suther, and Diamond Grace Suther. Also, his very close friend who was like a daughter to him, Olga Genseal. Everyone is from Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father, T.C. Sugg, his mother, Wilma Newsom Schloman, his stepfather, Eugene Schloman and grandmother Emma Newsom from Missouri.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston on May 23, 2012.
