Thelma Lee Roan

Thelma Lee Phillips Roan, born in Pontotoc County, OK on June 19, 1931, ascended to her Heavenly home on July 5, 2012. Preceded in death by her adoring husband Burton and precious great-grandson Brayden. She is survived by her children, Janet and Paul Strother of Spring, and Debbi and Bill Miller of Silsbee; her “favorite” grandchildren Brandi and J.R. Stegall, Billy and Brandi Miller, and Paige and Steven Hays along with 7 great-grandchildren who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by some very special aunts in OK and many other beloved family members and friends. Thelma was very involved in school and church activities while her daughters were young and then put her sparkling personality to work in customer service for Colorcraft and then Lykes Steamship Co. After retiring, she was devoted to the care of her ailing husband and mother and was blessed by the fellowship she enjoyed at Airline United Methodist Church during her last years in Houston. In 2007, Thelma moved to Silsbee to be in a better position to spoil a growing crop of great-grandchildren - loving her babies was what Mams did best!

Family and friends are invited to the Visitation to be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. A Celebration of Thelma’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2012 at Earthman Resthaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. With a reception to be held at Earthman Resthaven Hospitality Room following the Graveside Service.
