Teresa was born on April 10th, 1928 and resided in Houston Texas.
She was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. A devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church her entire life. Making all of her sacraments, her Wedding, her 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary as well as her 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary at OLG.
Teresa had a penchant for Bingo, Loteria, Dominos, Puzzles, Lotto Scratch-offs, a love of reading books and the newspaper. She had a strong interest in local and world events. She never neglected her right to vote. She was a music enthusiast with a fondness for Boleros, Valses, and Mariachi music. She was an exceptional cook who prepared amazing dishes with great love. An avid gardener with a green thumb like no other! She loved plants, herbs and flowers. We know God called upon his finest gardener to tend to the flowers in Heaven.
She always rooted for her Houston Teams; Texans, Astros and Rockets.
Despite her illness and aging, she was active and full of curiosity, energy, and a great sense of humor until her final days. She loved her family deeply and was always very supportive of all their endeavors. She was lovingly known as “Tere” and “Nanny” by her family as well.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Teofilo Castillo; her parents Macario and Maria Manrique Aguilar; her brothers, Pedro, Felix, Frank, Manuel, Joe, Salvador, and Freddie; her sisters, Elisa Martinez and Rosa Lopez, Daughters-in-Law; Rita Castillo, Helen Patxot and Son-in-Law Jerry Ramirez.
She is survived by her sister Maria Guadalupe Medina. Three sons; Alfred Castillo Sr., Richard Castillo and George Castillo; Daughters, Cecilia Ramirez and Lola Castillo Patxot; Grandchildren; Annette Saldana, Alfred Castillo Jr., Christopher Ramirez, and Melissa Castillo Maxwell; Great-Grandchildren; Josiah Castillo, Isis Maxwell, Jaden Castillo, and Jesselle Castillo. As well as her beloved companion, her Chiweenie, Tino.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 17th 2021, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Del Angel – Crespo Funeral Home located at 2516 Navigation Blvd with a Rosary to commence at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass service will be held on Friday, June 18th, 2021, at 12pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 2405 Navigation Blvd. Interment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery at 6900 Lawndale St.
The family would like to express a special thank you to her loving caretakers, Francisca “Panchita” Salazar and Juanita Rodriguez, they are angels on earth.
