Stephen Robert Van Dyke, 51, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 10, 2010 in Katy, Texas. Born on November 15, 1958, Steve was a Philadelphia, PA native with an unbridled passion for the Phillies. He graduated from Philadelphia’s Temple University in 1981 with a B.A. in Communications. He dedicated his career and heart to a lifetime of service assisting underfunded law enforcement agencies as the Executive Director of the sister organizations of the United States Deputy Sheriffs’ Association and the United States Municipal Police Association. Through his efforts, immeasurable officer’s lives were saved and he granted relief to hundreds of officers in need. He is survived by his wife, Judy and son, Alex, of Houston, TX. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX. Interment will be held at Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville, IL, at a date to be announced.
