

Siria Flynn of Bellaire, Texas, passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on August 3, 1928, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Siria spent the majority of her life in Houston and Bellaire, where she built a legacy of dedication, compassion, and strength.
Professionally, Siria worked primarily in the field of accounting, culminating her career in public service as an employee for the State of Texas. Her diligence and integrity left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike. Beyond her career, Siria was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she found both community and spiritual fulfillment.
Siria was preceded in death by her daughter, Elsa Ann Kramer Segrest, and her son, Karl Francis Flynn. Her memory lives on through her daughter, Marlene (Sammie) Flynn Brown.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bluebonnet Palliative Care and the Gardens of Bellaire Memory Care and Medical Team for their unwavering compassion and care—not only during Siria’s final days but throughout the four years she resided at the Gardens. Also, thank you to the members of the Hermann Park Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
for their long- time support and care for Siria
Siria was also deeply comforted and uplifted by the presence of her cousin, Louis Burciaga, and her grandson, Todd McLain, whose companionship brought her joy and peace in her later years.
A memorial service honoring both Siria and her son, Karl Flynn, will be held on Saturday, April 26, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St., Houston. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by interment at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Siria’s memory to the Houston SPCA, reflecting her love and compassion for animals.
Siria Flynn will be remembered for her enduring faith, quiet resilience, and the love she so freely gave to all who knew her.
