Shirley Maxine “Weenie” Ramsey Williams, 89, resident of Katy, Texas, wife of James “Suzie” Leonard Williams (deceased), passed away in her sleep on November 23, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Born May 13, 1935, in Levelland, TX, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher Wiley and Zola Wood Ramsey. Maxine lived a Godly life. After she graduated from Iowa Park High School, she furthered her education at Midwestern State University. She married her high school sweetheart and remained married for 66 years. Maxine worked for the Federal government for over 20 years, where she assisted Judge Allen B. Hannay, United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Upon retiring from the Federal government, Maxine worked for several companies and was the co-founder for Base Seal International. She was an honored member of the Greater Houston Women’s Hall of Fame for her success and contributions to women in business. However, her love for Christ and helping people was her true passion. She had a positive impact on many people’s lives not only in Texas, but also worldwide. Maxine’s philanthropic contributions resulted in being awarded the Yellow Rose of Texas, an honorary commission recognizing outstanding Texas women for significant contributions to their communities and to Texas and building a better future. Maxine enjoyed several hobbies but had two true pastimes. She loved to paint; in fact, she completed many commissioned paintings, and her second passion was the Culture Group. Maxine was a founding member of the Culture Group, and it has been in place for 54 years. Most of all she loved Christ and her family. She was all about sharing that love with all she met. Maxine is preceded in death by her husband James and their son Paul Williams. All family and friends are invited to a graveside funeral service to be held at 10:00am on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery (12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077) with Rev. Kevin Spivey officiating. A viewing will take place at the Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home from 4:00-8:00pm on December 14, the day prior to the service.
