Scott Christopher Black aka UncleScotty, Loving son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin, and devoted and loyal friend passed away suddenly on September 3, 2010. He was born in Houston, Texas to Barry and Lois Black on September 4, 1963, attended Westbury High School and was a graduate of Southwest Texas State University. Scott was the owner and designer of Blackwood Furniture Design and most recently had a successful career as co-founder of SableQuest land developers. Scott was a very loving and generous person who never met a stranger. He was passionate about his family, friends and his motocross endeavors. He had an innovative and tireless appetite for fun and risk that was legendary. He lived life to the fullest. He gave much of his time and talent to The Ride for Kids®, a program that supports the efforts of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation® (PBTF) to find the cause of and cure for childhood brain tumors. He was consistently one of the top sponsored riders. Scott’s love for life and adventure were evident in everything he did. The world was truly a much better place with him in it. Scott is survived by his parents, Barry Black and Lois Black, sister Tracey Black Kirkpatrick and her husband Tom, brother Troy Black, Beloved nephews and niece Carson, Connor, and Lillian Kirkpatrick, grandmother Nell Black, aunt Emmie Morris, uncle Daniel McQuilkin and scores of close friends and relatives. The family wishes to thank Peter J. Sullivan for his efforts and support during the past several days. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. A memorial service celebrating Scott’s life will be held Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Three Palms Extreme Sports Park, 15100 I-45 South, Conroe, TX 77384 which is near the northwest corner of I-45 and FM1488.
