Kay went to Aldine Senior High School where she was on The Mustang Vaqueras Drill Team in 1968. When she was 17, she met her husband, who introduced himself as Dale, which wasn’t his name. She gave birth to her son Allen Dwayne and four years later had a daughter Tonya Lynn.
Kay was a caring, compassionate, loving and Christian wife and mother. Kay was a dedicated employee at Roadway Inn as the Head of Housekeeping for 15 years. Every Sunday, Kay was determined to go to bingo. She wouldn’t miss Bingo for anything. Beside loving bingo, she lived to shop at Walmart for hours and hours. That was her excitement for the week.
Daughter of the late Wilford W. Wood. Sister of Jody Rae Moeller and Lynell Palermo and husband Sam. Survived by her husband Allen Ray Thompson, son Allen Dwayne Thompson, and daughter Tonya Lynn Nichols and her husband Troy, and mother Menda Joe Andrews. Kay was the cherished grandmother and will be missed dearly by her granddaughter Jessica Kay and grandson Todd Joseph Dekerlegand. Kay is also survived by nieces and nephews Bryan Dale and Louie Joe Bunch and Cristina Jo-Lynn and Steven Joseph Garza.
Visitation is on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 6-8pm at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Services are to follow the next day at 10 am.
