I was just simply floored to learn/hear of her passing just yesterday.  I knew Ruth since 8th grade.  We lost touch for many years & than when I was living in Houston, TX we reconnected.  I got transferred to San Diego, New Orleans & than had to evacuate from Katrina to Austin & somewhere we lost touch again.    She had always been a GREAT FRIEND & I was blessed when she sent me one of her CD's, which I listen to often.  My blessings & prayers go out to you.  Everyone that knew her has been touched & blessed by her presence!!

To the family of Ruth, we knew her as Ann Rackard and i sang with her on the Ft. Bend opry years ago.
She was a fine lady and she will be missed a lot. Love to all Perry & Ann Pace

Ruth was born into a family that already had three boys.  We boys did not quite know what to make of that.  Much to our mother's dismay, Ruth became one of the boys.  Because of mom's persistence though, she turned out to be a real lady; with an edge.   Oh how you will be missed sis.   I am so very sorry Mike, Amy and Nic for your loss.  She was a wonderful wife and Mother. When she spoke of you, there was great love in her voice.  Ruthie was one of a kind.  After her, they broke the mold.   One day, our saddness here on earth, will turn to joy when we are re-united with you, on heavens shore!   Your loving brother always.

Dear Whelan Family, what lovely words written by Ruth's co-workers and fellow singers...I never knew about her singing talent. Regretably, travel kept me from being with you at the memorial service. My prayer is that the love of family and friends will sustain you in your time of grief.  God Bless you, Michael.

I met Ruth when I started at Shaw and she and I were the only expediters on the GME project. She taught me the way I wanted to act as an expediter and how to maneuver around the egos encountered in that position. I will remember her laugh, her joie de vivre, her stories of Roscoe's antics, her joy in her grandson and her children, her love of Mike and just the goodness that was Ruth. I will miss her and happy hours will never be the same. Rest, dear friend. You deserve it.

I will never forget how much she was always there for me when I was going through some really tough times. I feel that she saved my life. I will miss her so much. She was a wonderfull lady.

I know Ruth, since I started working at Stone & Webster way back in 1997....then back at Shaw. Though we are not that closed at work, but she was a very sweet woman to me.....I remember when I was scheduled for a surgery and a circulation of email was pass around regarding some assistance in my behalf......she called me and came to my area and offer me if I ever need some help...I was really touch by her unexpected gesture...May the good Lord Bless her soul as she will enter into the gate of the Eternal Life. My thoughts and prayers are with her family....

I met Ruth while working at Shaw.  RIP Ruth - I know you are singing in heaven.

We met Ann back in the Opry days. She had such a beautiful voice and sweet smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during ths difficult time.

Amy and Nic, I grieve with you, and look forward to sharing with you and Phoenix J.C. stories of Ruth from times past.

I met Ruth while working on the Marathon projects. She was nice, helpful and always had good things to say about everybody.  I remember the day she was showing off pictures of her new living room furniture, especially with the dog right there in the middle admiring her new sofa.  She was proud of her family and friends.  My prayers go out to the family. She will be missed.

Ruth was Expeditor on the Marathon GME Project when I started working with Shaw.  Ruth was very professional and had such a good working relationship with everyone.  I grew to know her better and considered her one of my friends at Shaw.  One of the things I remember about her is her beautiful laugh and smile.  When Ruth laughed it melted away the years and you could see the girl behind the woman's smile!  My deepest sympathy to Ruth's family and friends.

Farewell Ruth, I will see you in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with Mike, Amy, Nick, and your whole family.

Ann and I were singers on a show together many years ago. We were regulars at the Fort Bend Opry.  She had a wonderful talent. And a way of making people smile. Ann was a dear friend of mine.  There wasn't a weekend that went by that she did not call me just to say hello for the past 13 years.  She was lovely lady who loved her kids and husband very very much.  I will miss those phone calls and her laughter on the other end.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Mike, Amy, Nick and the rest of her family.

I remember Ruth telling her co-workers of her love & excitement for her newest grandbaby.  She was happy to show off pictures of the newest addition to the family and was a very proud grandmother.  She also loved her very spoiled Boxer (her words).  It was very nice to hear Ruth talk of these two things that brought her much joy.  I remember this about Ruth and she was a good soul.  I have nothing but good thoughts of her.  I will miss her.  My condolences to her husband and family.
