She lived a full life until her passing at 95 years on April 18, 2024. She lived most of her life in Houston, Tx where she graduated from Jeff Davis High School.
She was an active member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Houston, Tx.
She married Marcel Quinones Heredia and they had three children. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. Cookie loved to cook and make desserts, especially when it was for a gathering or party. She played softball, loved to dance and crochet. She lived a wonderful life and took care of her husband through health and sickness for 39 years until the Lord called him home.
She later married Paul Silva of Houston, Tx and they were members of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. She spent 17 years with him before the Lord called him home. The last 6 years were spent in LaPorte, Tx where she had many friends, loved playing Bingo, and watching the Astros with the other Golden Girls.
She was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Cruz Gallardo, a brother Samuel Gallardo and a great grandchild Robyn Marie Heredia.
She is survived by her children Michael Heredia and wife Ann, Charles Heredia and wife Margarette, Laura Yates and spouse Sonya.Her grandchildren Anisa Heredia Garza and husband Lupe, Adrian Heredia and wife Elizabeth, Christopher Yates and wife Tiffany, Loraine Yates, Stephanie Yates, Patrick Heredia and wife Tamara, and Daniel Heredia. She had 7 great grandchildren and various nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
All services will be held at Forest Park Lawndale. The Vigil is April 24th from 5-8 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm. The Funeral is April 25th @ 1 pm with Rite of Committal at 2 pm. The family would like to offer our thanks to Becky, Letty, Vernell, and Helen for helping us care for our beloved mother. You will be missed.
