Roy attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School where he served as an altar boy. After completing his education with San Jacinto High School Mr. Gloria proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. Notably, he served during the Tet Offensive as a member of the armored tank division. Mr. Gloria received the following decorations, medals and commendation for his years of service: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars; Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Rifle Marksman. After being honorably discharged from his service to his country from 1968-1970
Mr. Gloria joined the workforce and became a welder. As he continued in his career he began working for the United States Post Office and joined the American Postal Workers Union. After 30 years of service with the United States Post Office Mr. Gloria retired in 2018. Roy was an excellent provider for his family and always took care of those that he loved. He lived by this verse “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26. Roy Gloria Jr. passed on from this life on May 22, 2021.
Mr. Gloria is survived by his mother Mary Alice Gloria, his wife of fourteen years Erlinda Gloria; sons Roy III (Alisha), Eric (Olga), and Jacob (Syliva), step daughter Marlene (Andy); grandchildren, Shelsie, Ashley, Mia, Kynedi, Lacey and numerous brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces.
