Always in our hearts and thoughts .. missed always 

For the family and friends of my dear Uncle Roy, sending my prayers for assistance and healing during this exceedingly difficult time.   I will miss my loving Uncle Roy.  He was such a loving man and he always taught me about loving your family.  He was always there for my Dad as he fought years of health troubles.  He always tried to spend time with my Dad and visit him in the hospital.    It is sad that only my Aunt Yolanda is left out of all his brothers and sisters.  I hope that all of they can all enjoy each other's company now that they are all together and with their parents.  Sending my love and prayers to all who are grieving during this mourning period.   It has been almost two years since my father passed away.  All I can tell you is that it does get easier with time.  Like today I still miss my Dad terribly, but I am happier knowing he is no longer in any pain and he no longer suffers.  And I think of him being with his past family and enjoys their company. 

Thank you Uncle Roy.  My deepest condolences to my cousins and my godmother.  Thank you for all the memories and the  New Years Eves at your home popping fireworks as a kid. Thanks for being my godfather.  Rest In Peace.

My Uncle Roy recently met my wife and my wife told me afterwards....Gee your uncle's tall, what happened to you ?.. I laughed. He was tall... That was recent, but almost 50 years ago I was having a birthday party. I was a little kid.  I picked up a gift and asked ..." What's this?" and my Uncle Roy goes " It's a model" and I just stared at it. A couple of years later, myself and someone else tried putting that model together and the end result was not good. To this day, I laugh about that model. But what's really amazing is the fact that's the only thing I remember about that party, besides the fact that it happened on a Saturday. He was a good man and I'm sure he left his family with many happy memories. I hope they'll treasure them forever. Wishing all his loved ones peace in their time of sorrow.

Hello, and I'm sorry I can't be with you today, for Roy, but I knew I had to say something to remember him. All of you know ,I'm sure, that Roy and I grew up together in a little house on King street with 10 children, 10 children. Roy was number 7 and I am number 10. Roy was eight years older than I am, so my first memories of him are when he was a teenager, and I remember he would come in from outside, playing with the boys,  basketball, or football or baseball.  I remember Roy loved baseball, and he'd come in all sweaty, so he was already...almost grown. 

Soon after that, right around graduation, he must have been 18, I remember my mom was very excited.  We were going to go to graduation, and afterward people were coming to our house.  The house was clean and she had put a chocolate cake on the table.  And so I thought, "why are we so.., what's going on, something's happening?" And then I realized  that Roy had invited Deme, his girlfriend, and we were going to get to meet Deme for the first time. And she came, and it was lovely.  And she was very petite and had beautiful long hair, I remember, I was very impressed with her.  And it seems like from that moment forward, from that day forward, I never saw Deme, I never saw Roy without her,  by his side.  They were a "couple'. They were very lucky to have found each other so young...so early in their life. 

A little later on when I was around 12, I think12,  Roy said he was that was gonna go to the Rodeo and take Deme on a "date" to the rodeo and I could accompany them. I was so happy, I got to accompany them on a date. And I remember it was a Saturday and we left the house very early because Roy didn't have a car, so we had to take the bus and we did, to her house and it was a long way.  We got out and we met her parents, I met her parents, Roy had already met them.  And we stayed there a little bit and then Deme came with us and we took another bus to go downtown, and then transferred to another bus to go to the


To the family of Roy Cardenas I extend my deepest and sincere condolences.
Yolanda has always talked proudly of her brother.  And I had the pleasure of meeting Roy and Deme on a couple of her visits. 
I know how hard it is to lose a loved one. 
May your memories of Roy bring you comfort and peace.  And your faith in God and his  blessings sustain you.

To Grandpa,
You were a true Angel walking among us. Grateful for the many memories we were able to create with you, even though we wished for many more. You were the Biggest blessing in our lives, we love you and we will miss you tremendously.

Uncle Roy was loved.  He knew how to show love. He knew how to give love. Wherever he went the love inside of him showed bright.  He was a very good man. A great husband and father and grandfather and friend.  Honest, kind, full of gifts of the Holy Spirit. Heaven has another Angel and called him home.  
May his light shine on his family always.

Tio Roy was a man with a heart of gold. Always happy and cared for all. He would always take his wife and her family wherever they needed to go. Tio Roy loved my kids and they called him grandpa. A title he was proud to receive. Tio I will miss you and will forever cherish the memories. Heaven gained a special Angel. Rest in peace tio. Until we meet again. Prayers for the Cardenas family.
