Robert Lee Rozelle, 78, of El Monte, California, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024, surrounded by all of his family. Born on July 1, 1946, to Rachel E. Lavender and Alvin A. Rozelle, “Skip” lived a life dedicated to service, family, and adventure.
A proud veteran, Robert “Skip” served as an Officer in the United States Army from April 17, 1969 to April 15, 1973. He was a decorated soldier, earning the Vietnam Service Medal, Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and Army Commendation Medal. His bravery and commitment to his country remain a legacy of honor and sacrifice.
After his military service, “Skip” pursued higher education, graduating from the University of Texas in 1976 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. His passion for finance and helping others led to a distinguished 47-year career as a Financial Advisor. He retired on April 1, 2023, from Wells Fargo Advisors leaving behind countless clients and colleagues who valued his guidance and wisdom over many years.
On March 19, 1983, Robert married the love of his life, Penny Nissley Rozelle. Together, they built a family that became his greatest joy. He also treasured his relationships with his children from a previous marriage and was deeply proud of their accomplishments and families.
Robert is survived by his wife, Penny, and his children:
• Mary Elizabeth Rozelle Klopfenstein (from a previous marriage), and her children, Lauren Klopfenstein Miller, Lindsey Klopfenstein McGlone, John Michael Klopfenstein, and Jeffrey Klopfenstein
• Robert Lee Rozelle Jr. (from a previous marriage) (Dana Leigh Lake Rozelle, 1966–2024), and their children, Thomas Drake Rozelle and Robert Seth Rozelle
• Christopher Matthew Rozelle (Mallory Elizabeth Duren Rozelle), and their children, Peighton Nissley Rozelle and Camden Colvin Rozelle
• Michael Andrew Rozelle (Jennifer Truglio Rozelle), and their children, Jameson Thomas Rozelle and Margaret Rachael Rozelle
Robert was also a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and a great-grandfather to one, who will all remember his love, wisdom, and sense of adventure.
Robert’s legacy is one of dedication to his family, country and career. His warm spirit, sharp wit, and passion for life touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Services to honor Robert’s life will be held at the Earthman Funeral Directors at 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX. 77024 on November 21, 2024 with visitation from 10am to 11am, memorial service beginning at 11am in the Hunters Creek Chapel and a reception immediately following.
