Bob, the son of R.E. & Norma “Skipper” Rose, was born in Memphis, Tennessee on the 23rd of October 1938. He served in the U.S. Air Force and received a MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Bob spent his career in the Offshore Drilling Industry. He served as CEO for Diamond Offshore and Global Marine and recently retired as Chairman of the Board for Transocean, Ltd. He was also a director for Taylor Energy and sat on other boards in the past.
Bob had a passion for flying and bird hunting. He enjoyed wing hunting in many parts of the world.
Bob was a dedicated family man and is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn; son, Robert; daughter-in-law, Susannah; and his granddaughter, Blake (11) and grandson, Tanner (8). Also, surviving him are brothers John, Steve and Bill Rose, and their wives: Germaine, Debbie & Patty; and his sister, Judy Rose.
A private celebration of Bob’s life is to be conducted at a later date.
