Robert Clarke Priest

We will be celebrating Robert Clarke Priest’s life at the Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 7010 Chetwood Drive, Houston, Texas at 4PM on September 23, 2022.

Robert (birth name: Newlimoon) was born on June 18, 1968 in Seoul, South Korea, the son of Michael Moon and Helen So. In April of 1980, Helen with her son Robert moved to Georgia, United States, where he was adopted by his step father, Clarence Priest. He was an inspiration to his family and many friends, and left us on Thursday, September 15th, 2022.

After moving to Enid, Oklahoma in 1982, he graduated from Enid High School in 1987, and pursued a Bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma State University. Afterwards, he went to University of Tulsa for a Master’s degree. From here, he spent most of his life as a petroleum engineer, working for various oil companies. He had two children, Alex and Isabella, from his first marriage. His career had him moving to various places around the world, where he eventually found himself in Cairo, Egypt. This is where he met Marianne Azer George through a running group called "maadi runners" and got married in Gouna/ Egypt in October 2019. They travelled the world together running marathons and enjoying life. He was a great, loving husband and he worked tirelessly to be the best father he could be to his children.

He loved to stay active, enjoying many different sports and activities before eventually specializing in marathon running. Some of his achievements include holding the world record for the fastest time to run 8 marathons in 8 consecutive days on every continent, as well as completing over 50 marathons by the age of 50. He was a shining example that it’s never too late to pursue excellence in a newfound passion. He was also a distinguished traveler, having visited over 40 different countries. He created a family across the globe as he never failed to build friendships everywhere he went. He will be deeply missed by his family in Egypt and Berlin.

He is preceded in death by his step father, Clarence.

He is survived by his mother, Helen; his wife, Marianne; children, Alex and Isabella; other relatives and friends.
