Robert (Bob) Lee Huck, 86, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on December 12, 2013. He was born in Louisville, KY on May 8, 1927. After the Navy, he graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Bob married Suzan (Suzy) Schlueter on August 19, 1950 in Indianapolis IN. Bob was a polio survivor of 59 years which led him to Baton Rouge, LA. He was a deacon and elder of Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. He started his own civil engineering firm (Huck & Associates) in Baton Rouge which he ran until he retired. Bob and Suzy loved to entertain family and friends at their beach place in Destin, FL.
They eventually moved to Houston, TX in 1997 to be nearer to their children and grandchildren. He and Suzy spent time attending activities of their four grandchildren. Bob was always an optimist, never letting his disability or anything else interfere with his outlook on life. He was a role model and mentor to many people throughout his life and many people have said that he was a positive influence on their lives.
He is preceded in death by his brother, David W. Huck Jr. and leaves behind his loving wife Suzan Huck, son Chris, daughter Debbie Loux (husband Steve), and grandchildren Barret and Kelsey Loux, Alexander and Spencer Huck.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church (10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston) at 1:00 on Monday December 16 followed by a short reception and graveside burial at Forest Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the March of Dimes or the Alzheimer’s Association.
