Robert Bussian passed away on Saturday, the 1st of December 2018, in Houston, Texas. He was 92 years old. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Bussian enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1944 and served in Europe in 1945 and 1946. He was a graduate of the University of Colorado, the University of Colorado School of Law, and New York University School of Law for his Masters Degree in Taxation. Mr. Bussian began his law career in Roswell, New Mexico. He moved to New York where he served as Vice President and General Counsel of The American Independent Oil Company and in that same position for Aminoil, Inc. in Houston. Following his retirement from Aminoil, Mr. Bussian was Of Counsel for the law firm Haynes and Boone and practiced later as an international and domestic arbitrator concentrating in oil and gas law. He enjoyed golf and travel and will be missed very much by his family and many friends.
Mr. Bussian is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sally; his son, David Bussian; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Jay Kempner, son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Anne Bussian; grandchildren, Poppy and Grace Bussian, Jack, Robert, and Mary Kempner, and Sally and Mary Jane Bussian; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The memorial service is to be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 21st of December, in the chapel of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive in Houston, where Dave Steane, Executive Pastor, is to officiate.
Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the nearby parlor.
