Robert Adair Brown, Jr., known affectionately as Bobby, passed away on July 22, 2024, in New Braunfels, Texas, at the age of 81. Born on December 19, 1942, in Houston, Texas, Bobby was a kind, gentle soul and a loving father, cherished by all who knew him.
Bobby attended Holy Ghost primary and high schools before earning his degree from The University of Houston. His passion for music was evident early in his life; he spent his teens through his 30s playing guitar. Notably, he performed on The Tonight Show with the Dean Scott band. Bobby was also an avid sailor, a hobby that brought him great joy and peace.
He is survived by his son, Robert A. Brown, Ill (Gail), his sister, Alison Mott (Tom), nephews Travis and Clayton Mott, niece Monica Mott (Mitch Schuetz), step-grandchildren Rebekah Pauly (Andrew) and Rachele Lopez, and step-great-granddaughter Riley. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. Brown, Sr., and Dorothy C. Brown.
Graveside services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Rd., Houston, Texas 77077. The service will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, July 26th 2024, with visitation occurring one hour prior at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Bobby's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by his family, friends, and all who were touched by his gentle spirit and love for life
