Richard Wayne Christiansen, known affectionately as Rich, passed away on October 3, 2024, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 77. Born on January 17, 1947, in San Antonio, TX, Rich devoted over 50 years to his career as a graphic designer. He began his journey in the industry by founding Print Media One, and later contributed his expertise to FiServ and Fabcorp/Hammonds, where he remained actively involved until his last days.
Rich graduated from Bellaire High School and carried forward his passion for creativity and design throughout his life. Beyond his professional achievements, he cherished spending time with his family, particularly golfing with his brother and nephews. Rich was also known for his playful spirit, often teasing his niece, nephews, and great-nephews, which brought much joy and laughter to family gatherings.
Rich is survived by his sister, Judith Lee Cox of Sugar Land, TX; brother, Dean Leo Christiansen of Cypress, TX; niece, Kimberly Joyce Savage (Kent) of Sugar Land, TX; nephews Philip Roger Cox II (Michelle) of Tomball, TX, Christopher Kevin Cox (Marcie) of Katy, TX, Robbie Christiansen (Lomi) of Windsor, CO, and Eric Christiansen of Cypress, TX; great nephews Garrett, Tanner, Parker, Nicholas, Taylor, Dylan, Hunter, and Odin; and great niece, Alara; and wonderful friend, Beverly Christiansen. He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Leroy Christiansen; mother, Pearl Amanda Christiansen; and stepdaughter, Tiffany Frangione.
A service celebrating Rich's life will be held on Monday, October 14, at The Chapel of Eternal Peace at Forest Park in Houston, with a viewing at 10 am followed by a service at 11 am. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at the funeral home in Houston, TX, for their compassionate assistance during this difficult time. Rich's legacy of creativity, humor, and family devotion will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew him.
