Reeda June Brown-Abueg, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away in Houston, Texas on December 7, 2023. Born June 30,1930 in Kansas City, Missouri and came to Texas as an infant and was raised in the Lone Star state.
Preceded in death by husband of 40 years Richard Brown, daughter Ricki Brown McAdams, parents Melba and William Reed Hines, stepdaughter Amy Abueg and grandson-in-law Zachary Wilkinson.
Survived by husband Frank Abueg, daughter Cindy Holchak, husband Steve. Grandchildren Travis Holchak, wife Stephanie, Kimberly Holchak-Wilkinson. Great-grandchildren Bryce and Slade Holchak, Maisie Wilkinson. Stepchildren Mel Abueg, wife Marianne, Catherine Schwartz, husband Darin, step-grandchildren Ben and Tristan Abueg, Willow and Wyatt Schwartz, Marissa Abueg Mills, Jakoby Taylor and Katelyn Wilkinson.
Reeda was employed by Camilla Blaffer Trammell and The Estate of Camilla Trammell for 24 years, retiring in 2003. Reeda enjoyed numerous types of dancing such as country western, jitterbug and other ballroom dances. Reeda met her husband Frank at a dance and after four years of dancing together, decided to dance to the altar in May 1999.
Reeda enjoyed going on cruises and went on many of them in her lifetime, as well as going on land trips to various countries. Reeda always said that she hoped she would live long enough to travel to all the places she wanted to see.
A visitation for Reeda will be held Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will occur from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with burial immediately following . All services being held at Forest Park Lawndale.
