Rebecca Garcia

Heaven welcomed an angel into it’s gates on January 27, 2022, Rebecca "Becky" Garcia at the age of 79. She went home to be with our Lord and all her loved ones waiting for her. She passed away in her bed at Kindred Hospital on a Thursday evening. Becky was born in March of 1942 to her parents Aurora Garza and Frank Jaramillo. Becky brought two children into this world, a beautiful and wonderful daughter and a son. Becky is survived by her son Alfredo “Lito” Garcia and wife Sonia, three grandchildren Jessica Lopez, Jason Lopez and wife Celestina and Anthony Garcia along with two great grandchildren Jay Jay and Willie Lopez and sisters Rosalie Martinez and Rachel Sarabia. Becky was the second youngest of 5 siblings and had countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Becky is preceded in death by her beautiful daughter Eleanor Lopez and husband Phillip, Mother Aurora Garza and stepfather John P. Garza, father Frank Jaramillo, grandmother Rafaela Gonzalez and brothers Rudy and Ramiro Jaramillo.

Becky shared her heart with Rudy Zaragosa from Houston for many years. From this relationship she gained three wonderful stepchildren Bernadette Zaragosa, Ruby Zaragosa and Rudy Zaragosa Jr. and all of their wonderful kids who she became a grandma to.

As a mother and grandmother she was generous, loving and kind. She never said no to helping or spoiling her kids or grandchildren. In her free time she loved to crochet blankets, usually for the newest arrivals to the family. She also loved our Houston teams. She loved to play the football pots during Thanksgiving and the Superbowl, usually luck would touch her and she'd win. To describe her is easy family, fun and laughter always with a smile on her face. She was 4'11 but had a fight in her equal to a giant. She would always say " Don't mess with my kids or my money " and she meant it. Anyone who tried usually found out how much fight she had in her. She loved kids, if she knew you had kids she would always ask about them and how they were doing.

Becky will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her, but we have to take the strength she gave us and use that strength to move forward with life, never forgetting her and keeping her in our hearts.

We know it's not good to be selfish and have you here in suffering but we're glad those angels waiting for you in heaven finally have you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and beautiful mother, God rest your soul.

A visitation for Rebecca will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
