Raymond James Greer Sr.

R. J. attended New Braunfels High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country during WWII at the battle of Peleliu where he was wounded and later received a purple heart for the sacrifice he made for his country. Later in life, he married Jeannine Knight Greer for 51 loving years. R.J.’s professional career consisted of working for the Victoria Police Dept., administrator of Jeff Davis Hospital as well as owner and operator of Greer Security Agency.

R.J. was survived by his sons Rusty Greer with his wife Stacey, and David Greer. His surviving grandchildren are Joshua and wife Karissa, Jessica, Kamron, Kaitlyn, Kendall, Chris wife Jennifer, and Travis. Great grandchildren include Daxton, Elliott, Declan, and Ashley. He is preceded in death by his wife Jeannine Greer and children Bill Greer and Charlotte Greer.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10:00 am at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038 with a committal service to follow to the Houston National Cemetery.
