Randy was born in Canyon Texas on June 10, 1963. He graduated from Klein High School in 1981. He joined the United States Navy in 1986. Randy served in Norfolk,Virginia, Millington,Tennessee, and Cubi Point/Subic Bay, Philippines during his career. He worked as a manager of Auto Repair Shops in Spring area. Randy had pride in his years he served in the Navy. His love for cars, airplanes, music and playing his guitar were some of the joys in his life. Everyone knows him for his funny random text messages, pulling pranks on co workers and family, his soft chuckle and gentle smile. He always welcomed those to sit and visit if they wanted to join him in his smoking section. The most important things to Randy were spending time with his son Kyle and the grandkids grilling at the house, making lemon launchers, rockets, and launching them.
Randy is survived by son Kyle Nichols, Daughter-n-Law Kimberly Nichols; his grandchildren, Kaden Nichols, Kaycee Nichols; his Step Mother, Joan Nichols; his Siblings, Mindy McPike, Robin Gordon, Joanne Thibodeau, and Greg Smith; and a abundance of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Jearl E. Nichols; his grandparents Lavaughn and Jearl Nichols; his great grandparents Willard and Bertha Dixon
The family will be receiving guests at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038 during visitation hours of 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 19, 2021.
A funeral service will occur Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 11:15 AM to 12:15 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will follow from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
The family would like to extend an invitation to a reception immediately following at the Forest Oaks Clubhouse located at 19023 Joanleigh Dr, Spring Texas 77388.
