Rachel Garza born August 6, 1929 passed away on August 11, 2012 in Houston. Rachel was a very independent person who did things her way, still driving up to a few months ago. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who lovingly called her Grandma Garza. She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed her trips to Spain and Mexico. Rachel is preceded in death by her husband Roy Garza Sr.; two sons, Richard Garza and Robert Garza. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Severson; son, Roy Garza Jr. and wife Teresa; Grandchildren, Liza Garza, Eric Garza, Jennifer Garza, Daniel Garza and Jessica Garza; eight great grandchildren and a host of friends. The family welcomes friends to a visitation at Forest Park Lawndale Main Chapel on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Forest Park Lawndale Main Chapel at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
