Placido Joel Martinez Sr.

Placido Joel “JoJo” Martinez Sr., age 58, of Heights, Texas passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 16, 1665 in Houston, Texas to parents Ruben C. Martinez and Alicia A.Martinez.

He graduated from John H. Reagan, class of 1984. He had a passion for auto mechanics, carpentry, watching his hometown sports teams and loved being busy outside. JoJo is preceded in death by his parents Ruben and Alicia Martinez; niece Maricela Gonzales. He is survived by his children Victoria and Joel; the mother of his children Debbie; and his one grandson Liam; Sisters Diana Perez, Alda Escobedo, Doelia Martinez, Naomi Martinez; Brother Rolando Martinez; and numerous nephews and nieces as well as great nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Placido will be held Monday, October 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008. A rosary service will occur Monday, October 14, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 1317 Heights Blvd, Houston, TX 77008. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church, 215 E 10th St, Houston, TX 77008. A committal service will occur Tuesday, October 15, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
