Dr. Pham was born on December 16, 1943 in Nam Dinh, Vietnam to Nga and Luu Pham, and graduated from Y Khoa Saigon Medical University in 1971. After graduation, he was introduced through a mutual friend to Mai Nguyen and they were later married on October 5, 1972. He, along with his wife and 2 daughters immigrated to San Jose, California in 1981 as Vietnamese refugees. As a first generation immigrant, Dr. Pham overcame a myriad of adversities to become a well-respected physician at LSU Health Center-Monroe (formerly E.A. Conway Memorial Center) after graduating as Resident of the Year in 1992. There, he ensued a passionate medical profession of emergency trauma care for over 15 years and saved countless lives during his tenure before he retired in 2004. He and his wife moved to Houston Texas after his retirement.
Dr. Pham is survived by his wife, Mai Pham; daughter, Thuy (Toni) Pham Estis and her spouse, Samuel Estis; daughter, Jennifer Pham; and grandchildren, Logan, Ethan, Samuel, and Alexis Estis. Dr. Pham was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Loan Pham.
Visitations will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2011, 11am-9pm and Friday, October 7, 2011, 9am-9pm at Chapel of Eternal Peace, 2454 S. Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Chapel of Eternal Peace, 2454 S. Dairy Ashford, Houston, TX 77077.
