Dear Cho Family:

First and foremost, I give my deepest condolences to elder Cho, senior deaconess Cho and Phillip. I could not have been more proud when I learned that Peter had accepted to enter the MD/PhD program. Having seen his high aptitude, hard work ethic and early dedication to medicine, I knew he would have definitely been a leader in his field and without a doubt have positively impacted society. It takes a lot for someone to choose this career path and his talent and skill will be missed by all. Although I may have influenced Peter educationally, he has also taught me a lot. For example, he has taught me a little humor goes a long way and through his passing, I have realized a lot. When elder Cho spoke about Peter that Friday back from Austin, I was so touched by his words. He said “God has blessed Peter to be with us for 21 years and now we have to return him back to our father in heaven. We have done our best”. I have not ever seen parents so loving and caring for their children. You guys are role model parents and indeed Peter and Phillip are blessed to have parents like yourselves. My prayers are with you guys. We Love You Peter.

Dear Cho Family - We are truly sorry for your loss of your wonderful son.  He is resting in the Lord now and we are blessed with such a promise of hope no matter what our circumstances.  As I read through these comments, I can see he was loved by many and it is a great testimony of the depth and breadth of his live and ministry here on earth.  A wonderful savior was glorified even in this sad event.  Our earnest prayers go forth to your family.  God Bless.

I have so many great memories growing up with Peter ever since we were young.  I remember going over to his house every weekend to play, to eat,anything just to spend time with him.  Although he was younger than me, he always gave me advice when I needed it and was always there for me.  He never passed by me without a hello, always hugging me from the back.  Every birthday, he would give me a card to remind me that I'm getting older and signed off with "Love Ya Sis".  I remember when I told him I had a boyfriend and how happy he was for me and replied by saying "about time."  I remember having conversations all night long about everything in this world and making us both smile and laugh.  I remember on my birthday weekend, he saw me grab a purse that I really liked at Aldo.  I just put it back and left the store and 2 minutes later, he came out with the purse and gave it to me.  I remember he was explaining to me on how the healthcare system works b/c I was so confused.  I remember telling him he had to play the violin on my wedding day and he made a funny face and said..."if that day ever comes"  I remember he always encouraged me that I can do anything I wanted.  I remember him waving with a smile on his face telling me "see ya" at church.
He was a person full of life, love and laughter.  I miss him so much~  He is my guardian angel now...I love you Peter.

Dear Cho Family,

I remember the first time I met Peter was when I was probably in 4th grade when a church friend brought him to our church. He seemed like the pretty awesome guy that really knew what he was doing, but enjoying every moment of his life. He was the guy that knew how to respect. I never got the chance to meet him again, but I know for sure that that one time I did meet him I learned so much about what it was like to be yourself even if I didn't realize it then. Both Phillip and you are and have been in my prayers. God Bless your family.

I still remember meeting Peter and Phillip for the first time about 4-5 years ago at H.E.B. My sister and I came with Vi to do some grocery shopping, and I was amazed to see what a jokester Peter can be to people that he had just met! From that moment on, every time I saw him, he would always ask how I was doing in school and was really interested in what I had to say. Peter was one of the most respectful and polite people that I've ever known, and I loved how he was never afraid to goof around in public... he always made the outing much more amusing! 
During spring break last month, he came with Vi to help me pick out my prom dress. Although I could imagine that he was not having the time of his life, he still managed to put a smile on his face and never complain about the boring "girly" shopping. I also remember a time 2 years ago when he and Vi came to my cousin Max's birthday party at a Japanese restaurant. My sister and I shared meals, but when the bill came, we realized that we did not have enough money to pay. I felt horrible, and the moment Peter saw the look on my face, he knew. Without saying anything, he took out his wallet and paid for us. I felt so guilty, but Peter kept telling us that we shouldn't worry about it and that he has our backs. I will forever miss the kindness and laughter that he'd brought to all of our lives, and I know that he is definitely in a better place right now. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. I never met Peter, although I feel deeply connected to your family. My name is Peter Hogan and I was one of the bystanders that was at Hamilton Pool that day. A few of my good friends found his girlfriend crying on a rock and we assumed she was hurt. When she told us what had happened we immediately swam to the other side of the pool and told someone to go call 911. I personally dove looking for your son for at least 15 or 20 minutes when I decided that it was the best idea to try and help the people who knew him. Your other son, Phillip, is a great person. I have never met someone who cared for their brother as much as he did. The one memory that I will never forget was Phillip asking me and 2 of my friends if we were Christian. We responded no. He then asked us to please pray to whatever God we believed in and hope that his brother was okay. I will always remember your sons and your family, and I would hope that I have as loving of friends and family that you have. My prayers to your family, I know your son is in Heaven.

Dear Cho Family,

I think of Peter everyday and I regret that I didn't get to know Peter on a more personal level. However, when I did see him around the UT campus and at church both in Houston and Austin, he was always a smiling and genuinely happy person. He always stopped to say hi no matter what was going on and we also lived at Sanjac together so I would always run into him there as well. I remember once that I went on a trip to Six Flags at San Antonio and I was surprised to see Peter there as well. We rode one of the water rides together and had tons of fun. Last Friday, I attended the awards ceremony for the natural sciences honor students and Peter was recognized there for his outstanding academics and scholarships. Even the Dean of the college of Natural Sciences teared up as she talked about how much of a tragic loss we all have been experiencing. Thinking about Peter brings me to tears everytime and I know it is on a different level since you guys are his family. But I hope that eventually thinking of Peter will only bring joy and happiness into your lives like he did to all of ours. It is a loss here on Earth for all of us and especially you his family but Heaven rejoices and God is so happy to have Peter back next to his side. 
Phillip, even though I don't know you, my brother Danny Moon has talked about you a lot and I can see that you and Peter were so so so close and you adored him a lot as an older brother. I pray for you always and I hope you will find peace soon. Carry on Peter's legacy and fill people's hearts with the joy that Peter gave to everyone. You know he's watching and guiding you with every step you take. Don't stray from God because of this unfortunate tragedy but become closer to him. I hope I will get to meet you soon and I hope to see some of Peter through you.

You are in my thoughts everyday. I wish I could be there with all of you to give you all hugs everyday and to tell you all how much Peter meant to me. Peter was an amazing person. He was the best roommate and friend that anyone could possibly have. He was always the first to ask you how your day was, how your test was, or whether you had fun. He made it his personal responsibility to make sure that everyone was having a good time. He was genuinely concerned about the people in his life. I always enjoyed sharing happy or good news with Peter because he would be more excited and more happy than I was. I have learned so many things from Peter over the years. He has made a huge impact on my life. There is not a day that will go by when I won't be thinking of him. I miss him so much

for me, it is still hard to believe. cant help being sad that Peter is gone. But i believe that Peter is resurrected in Christ and living eternal life in him. I am so thankful and blessed to know and spend time with Peter, he was one of the individual i truly love and care about. if it was not Peter and his family, i would have not been in Christ. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Cho, Phillip, and Peter. i will never forget what you guys have done to me.

I still remember being introduced to Peter 4 years ago, when he took Phillip, me, and some other friends to to Incredible Pizza Company after school during my 8th grade year. Although I didn't know him personally, I can tell that he was a great, caring brother and friend. My family and I are thinking about the Cho family, and our blessings go out to you.

So many memories that run through my head, I don’t know where to begin. Growing up spending most of my childhood years at church, allowed me to spend lots of time with Peter. He was always a smart, bright boy that I always looked up to. Calling him “oppa” was a way to show my respect for him. Past memories run through my head. Memories like the time as young children we were all suited up with red aprons and bow ties singing Christmas carols to our moms and dads. The time we received Christmas gifts from Santa (and I think it was peter that hit Santa but not sure y). I remember playing hide and seek with everyone and Peter would be always the hardest one to find (him and Andrew oppa were always in the weirdest places like under cars) I remember the times when basketball cards were popular and Peter oppa and everyone else would always boast about the good players that they had. I remember the time we went to CiCi’s pizza and he ate two whole pans of BBQ pizza by himself (everyone envied how he never gained weight, and always wondered where all that food went). I remember the time that we went to his house and played video games (of course he always won). I remember the time when he used to take me home from church, and I am always grateful. But most of all I remember a remnant that stood strong in Christ. I remember him as a true model that showed others what it means by really doing everything in Christ. I remember Peter oppa has a friend that had great dreams, I remember him as a loving, and caring friend. Words can never express how much I am grateful to him and his family. You and your family will continue to be within my prayers. I pray that God will really be with you and your family. Cho family, you guys are always within my prayers! Stay strong in Christ. We all love you so very much!

I am thankful that I met Peter because his friendly and easy-going personality made you feel comfortable just being yourself.  I have great memories of Peter every time I went back to Austin, he would come into the karaoke room and do his famous dance moves :)  Whenever I got to see him, he always had a smile on his face.  I will continue to keep Peter in my thoughts and prayers.

Dearest Cho Family,

I've only met Peter once; however, I feel like I've had a glimpse of him through my friendship with Phillip who looks up to Peter with such high regard. Because of Phillip, I felt like I had to be there at the service despite the distance that had grown between us in high school. The one time I met Peter, everyone was all smiles - the biggest one coming from Phillip. It is a memory worth cherishing. God bless your family.

Even though I couldn't get the chance to get close to Peter, I remember him as the kindest Remnant I ever met. His smile made me feel comfortable and opened my heart so that I can really talk to him even though I didn't know who he was very first time. He knows how to take care people and make them smile. Everybody else here in Dallas remember Peter just like I do. We pray for Philip and Peter's parents everyday as we know God's guidence leads all of you as it did Peter. May God's grace be with you 24/7. And Peter, see you later :)

I've had so many great memories of Peter. He's such a great brother, cousin, and role model. I remember all the fun road trips we had together and how much he made me laugh. He will always have a special place in my heart and I'm very blessed to have gotten to spend so much time with him. He's taught me a lot over the years and now I'm twice as determined to work harder. I love you so much, Peter. Instead of saying 'goodbye', I'll say 'see you later'.

And to my dear cousin, aunt and uncle, we love you. You're always in our thoughts and prayers.

I had the opportunity to work with Peter through the SMART summer undergraduate research program that I direct at Baylor College of Medicine.  Peter was more than a bright, academically gifted student.  His enthusiasm for life was infectious. He was considerate of and helped others.  His passing  is a loss to his family, friends and to the scientific community.  I have no doubt that Peter would have contributed greatly to biomedical research. He accomplished much in his short life and will be missed by those whose lives he directly touched and in an unknown way by those he would have helped throughout his medical research career.

I don't understand why God took him away at this time but I do believe that when God takes a child home, it is probably because this child has completed God's purpose on this earth.
