Peggy M. McDaniel, age 91, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday February 22, 2019. Peggy will always be remembered for her quick smile, outgoing personality, and friendly demeanor. She loved traveling the world with friends and family, playing games, and meeting new people.
Peggy was born October 24, 1927 in Beaumont, Texas to Cecil and Ada Cole. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 43 years, Bill McDaniel; and her sister Dee Borgstrom and brother-in-law Gus. Peggy is survived by her children; W. Doug McDaniel and wife Sharon; Katherine Johnson and husband Rocky; and Betty McDaniel and spouse Mary; her eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with 2 more on the way; also left to cherish her memory is her sister in law Marie Dowling of San Angelo and her four children; Ralph, Judy, Mary and Pat and their respective families.
Peggy was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School. She was an active member of the Bay Area Officer's Wives Club and a dedicated volunteer at St. John's Hospital. She was also a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church and a volunteer in the church office.
A visitation for Peggy will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Clear Lake United Methodist Church, located at 16335 El Camino Real, Houston, TX 77062. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the church. A private committal service for the family will begin at 2:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
Serving as pallbearers are Rocky Johnson, II, Joss Giddings, Everett Dallison, Darrell Campbell, Pat Dowling and Ross McDaniel.
