

Paul was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by service, perseverance, and love for his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul S. Gonzales, Sr., and Adelina M. Gonzales and brother-in-law Emilio Medina. He is survived by his beloved wife, Orfelinda M. Gonzales; his children, Christina Lopez, Stephanie Navarro, Paul Gonzales, and Sara Gonzales; his eight cherished grandchildren; his siblings, Melba Medina, Sylvia and Robert Ruiz and honorary brothers Gilbert Musquiz, and Alonzo Gonzalez.
Paul proudly served in the United States Army as part of the Airborne Rangers and Military Police, dedicating 22 years to his country and achieving the rank of Major. His military career took him across the world, including three years stationed in Germany and a hardship tour in Korea. A highly decorated soldier, Paul was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Acts of Heroism and Meritorious Service, as well as the National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, and the esteemed Ranger Tab. His leadership and dedication left a lasting impact on those who served alongside him.
After entering the active reserves for the Army, Paul continued his life of service with Child Protective Services, where he worked tirelessly for 30 years to protect and advocate for children and families in need. His compassion and commitment to making a difference in the lives of others were evident in every aspect of his career.
An avid golfer, Paul was a proud member of several clubs, including the Silver Eagle Golf Club, Golden Eagle Golf Club, and the Bandits Golf Club—and took great pride in his love for the game. During his chemotherapy treatments, Paul began to walk all 18 holes on the golf course—with his clubs and multipurpose backpack—as part of his exercise regimen, with his physician’s full support and encouragement—a testament to his strength, discipline, and dedication.
He embraced early retirement at 60, allowing him more time to enjoy his passions, including volunteering with Sheltering Arms Senior Services, where he brought joy to many through his love of karaoke. He also had a deep love for dancing, never missing an opportunity to hit the dance floor, whether at family gatherings or special occasions. His energy and rhythm were infectious, bringing smiles to everyone around him.
Beyond his professional achievements, Paul and his father built a successful landscaping business that thrived for 20 years, a testament to their hard work and dedication.
Above all, Paul was a dedicated family man. He never missed a milestone, always showing up for his children and grandchildren whether it was a school award, a sports match, or a special celebration, his presence was a constant source of encouragement and pride. His unwavering support and unconditional love left an everlasting mark on his family.
Paul cherished the simple joys of life, from weekend breakfasts with his wife to movie nights filled with laughter. His wisdom, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will forever be remembered.
His legacy of love, service, and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
