Pamela Sue Lightfoot, Ward, Hoppe Born to Sidney Irene Lightfoot and Jewel Henry Lightfoot as the only girl among five brothers, July 25, 1944 at St. Joseph Hospital in Downtown Houston, Texas. Pam is preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Sidney Reed Lightfoot, who passed on March 13, 2013 Her brothers are: Jacky Lightfoot, Dicki Lightfoot, Sidney Reed Lightfoot, Mike Lightfoot, and Timmy Lightfoot with many nieces and nephews Pam was born and raised in Houston, Texas and attended Milby High School. She married James Don Ward on June 8, 1962. They had two children Joel Elliot Ward, (DOB: April 6, 1963) and James Don Ward Jr., (DOB: May 22, 1964). She and James were married for 27 years. Pamela remarried to Kenneth L. Hoppe September 10th 1994. Pam and Ken were happily married until Kens untimely passing February 3, 2009. Pam cared for him until he passed away from illness. She was loved not only by Mr. Hoppe but her stepdaughters and their families; Steve (48) and Janice (47) Guminey and Karen Briones (48) and is fondly remembered by her step grandchildren; Cameron (19) and Carson (17) Briones, and Isabella (14) and Rachael (12) Guminey On November 3, 2000 Pamela became “Granny” to her first of six grandchildren which were born to her youngest son James Don and his wife Robbie Gayle Ward. Her grandchildren are:Lindsey Madison Ward: (DOB: 11/3/00), James Cheney Ward (DOB: 4/18/02), Charlotte Riley Ward (DOB: 7/31/03), Laci Gayle Ward (DOB: 11/11/04), Don Christen Ward (DOB: 7/8/06), Chase Reagan Ward (DOB: 8/28/08). Her grandchildren will always remember her in love as she lived next door for the three years prior to her illness. Granny lived in their home for her last 10 weeks of her life. These last weeks were filled with activities such as hunting, fishing, trick or treating, turkey, turkey and dressing cooking, ornament making, and lots of ice cream and candy eating! Granny made the most out of each of her last days. Daily she graced her family with kind words, affection, and appreciation to all those who cared for her. Pamela’s gentle spirit was given over to the Lord while in the hands of her family, peacefully and quietly, at 10:45pm December 12, 2016… by the glow of the family Christmas tree and the warmth of a wood burning fireplace.
