Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Colonel Earl J. Davidson (USAF ret.); her loving and loved parents, Mr and Mrs H.W. Beeland; her sister and brother-in-law, Mr and Mrs C.W. Guy, and son-in-law, David N. Koinm. She is survived by her beloved children; daughter, Nancy Koinm; son, John Davidson and wife, Susan; son, David Davidson and wife Sharon; and daughter Lila Lee and husband, Bill; grandchildren Steven Koinm and his wife, Mistie; Greg Koinm and his wife, Ruth; Chad Koinm; John Davidson and his wife, Jo Ann; Scott Davidson and his wife, Marie; Jennifer Richardson; David Davidson Jr and his wife, Amy; Leigh Koehler and her husband, Marc; Brandon Davidson and his wife, Annamaria; Travis Davidson; Todd Davidson; Jared Lee and his wife, Jackie; Jonathan Lee and his wife, Jacqie; Jordan Lee; Joshua Lee; and 23 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
She graduated from Reagan High School in 1939 and was a member of the Reagan Redcoats and served as flag sergeant. Other honors included the National Honor Society, Speech Arts, Campus Favorite, and Princess in the Spring Festival. There she met and kept over the years many lifelong friends whom have since preceded her in death. As a loving and devoted wife and mother, she cared for her children in many ways, one of which was serving as president of the PTA for many years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Houston and was very involved with her “In His Likenessr” Sunday School class.
She was truly blessed, but most of all, she was a blessing to all of us. She lived her life loving, nurturing, and caring for her children. She lived her life caring for everyone she knew and loved. No one was a stranger. She was very caring and considerate, freely giving her time and resources to others. You knew her for a day and immediately she would from then on remember you on your birthday, Christmas, or whenever she could have a chance. It may not be a lot, but it would be a card or a small gift of some kind to let you know she was thinking about you and loved you. There will be a huge void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. After having her for all these years, we will be lost without her. We love her very much and know she is happy and whole again being with Jesus, her husband, her father and mother, and all those who went before her.
She would want everyone to understand that she went to Heaven in the presence of God not because she was a good person and gave and received much love during her life (though that is true). But it is because she recognized, acknowledged, and received the gift of eternal life that God freely offers to everyone who believes that he sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross for our sin. Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father.
A memorial service will be held in her honor at 1:30pm, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Houston, 7401 Katy Freeway, with Pastor Gregg Matte officiating.
Donations may be made in memory of Elizabeth to First Baptist Church of Houston.
