Thelma Lee continued her education at Texas Southern University. She met and later married Wilburn Brown, and to this union four children were born: Chris, Tim, Tracey and Stacey. Thelma and Wilburn were happily married for 55 years until Wilburn’s journey ended in 2015.
The seeds of Thelma’s faith were planted early and she was baptized at Little Rock Baptist Church. She later joined Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church.
Thelma began her career with the U.S. Postal Service. Upon retiring from a long tenure at Galena Park Independent School District, she put her administrative skills to work while serving as Sweet Home’s church secretary for 19 years.
She loved being surrounded by her family, friends and extended family. Offering a listening ear, a kind word and sage advice, Thelma Lee always made everyone feel welcome and special.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Wilburn; daughter Stacey; brothers Lester, Bill and Jackey; and parents Jack and Bertha.
The precious memories Thelma leaves behind will be deeply cherished by: her loving and devoted children, sons Chris (Anntoinette) and Tim (Karen), daughter Tracey and stepson Michael (Kathleen); grandchildren Kristin (Robert), Jordan and Charlesa; great-granddaughter Aivree; sister Mildred Robinson; and a whole host of beloved family and friends.
