Robert Johnson, Jr., was born June 30, 1935, to the union of Robert and Sarah Johnson. He was raised in Beaumont, Texas and attended Charlton Pollard High School. He was enlisted in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. After Robert was discharged from the Army, he moved to Los Angeles, California to start his new life. He influenced other family members to move there as well. Robert lived there for many years. He later moved back to Beaumont, Texas and helped to build houses. He was very focused on safety. He took pride in whatever part that he built was safe for the homeowner. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers, James Johnson and John Johnson. He is survived by four sisters, Dorothy Johnson–Taylor, Betty Campbell and Zadie Mitchell (all of Los Angels, California), and Lorene Lewis (Houston); nieces, Toni Wright and Sandra Richardson (both from Los Angeles, California); nephews Elwayne Campbell, Elden Campbell, Charles Campbell Jr., Reginald Johnson, Keith Mitchell (all from Los Angeles, California); and a host or relatives and friends including best friend Alfred Valrie (Beaumont, Texas); cousins Varn Shaw (Plasiance, Louisiana), O’Neal and Bobbie Benton (Los Angeles, California).
