Morris was born to Morris A. Plumb Sr. and Linda Bollman Plumb on July 10, 1941.
Morris graduated from Lutheran High School in 1959.
After graduation he continued working at Gulf Printing. Following in his father’s footsteps where he was an offset pressman. Morris was called to serve his country abroad for 2 years in the Army.
Morris married Sharon Dillon in 1970 and they had a child, Tyson Plumb. In later years Jake found his life partner Charlyn Delony.
Morris survived by his son Tyson Plumb of Tomball, Texas. Two Step Daughters, Debbie Drosche of Houston Texas and Joeleen Hughes of Mount Enterprise, Texas.
Morris became known as Grampy Jake by his Grandchildren, Jessica Holloway of Timpson, Texas. Dusty Drosche of Houston Texas. Joseph Cline of Center Texas. Also Jamie Reynolds, Jennie Sneed, and Jodie Brown of Tennessee. He was fondly loved by his many great grandchildren.
Morris was preceded in death by his Father Morris A. Plumb Sr. His mother Linda Bollman Plumb both of Houston Texas. And his partner Charlyn Delony of Crosby Texas.
Morris played football for Lutheran High School. He took up being a cowboy and started rodeoing. Where he won a belt buckle in bull riding. He so loved being a cowboy.
He said he got his nickname “Jake” from his barber.
Among his other hobbies were trail riding with the Mavericks riding club. Bull riding and Bar-B-Q cook-offs. Jake was a life time member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. He was one of the founding members of the Houston Bar-B-Q Cook off Committee.
Jake always volunteered his many talents of wood working and cooking for his friends and family
He became “Jake of all trades”
