Mohamad is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Ibtihaj Hijazi; his daughters Rasha Prince, Rana Keeling, Ruba Pickle, and Ruwa Fulford; and their respective husbands John, William, Robert, and Michael. Mohamad is the 2nd born and eldest son coming from a family of 6 children including brothers Ahmad, Nasrat, and Nazih, and sisters Fatima and Firyal.
Mohamad was raised in Palestine and Lebanon. He was a top student who graduated with Honors from the American University of Beirut with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Mohamad always believed that education was key to professional and personal success. He met the love of his life at a very young age and later married her on January 8, 1964.
After college and marriage, Mohamad and Ibtihaj had four beautiful daughters while working and living in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. They dreamed of becoming American citizens and raising their daughters with the educational opportunities and freedom of will that they didn’t have as children. He was a hard-working man with a vision of a solid foundation for his family. In November 1979 with a budding career in Information Technology, he moved his family to Texas where they settled in Katy so his daughters could receive an excellent education. He never wavered from his devotion to his wife and daughters. He wanted strong roots for his family, so he bought a house that they called home for 32 years where he and Ibtihaj watched their daughters grow up, obtain college degrees, and eventually get married and start their own lives with four amazing sons-in-law.
Family was always top priority for Mohamad, and everything he did was for them. He was the Patriarch of the entire family, both immediate and extended. He had a heart devoted to giving generously to others and was always first to step in and support anyone.
Mohamad had a strong yet kind character and a heart of gold that made him everyone’s best friend, whether you knew him for a brief time or a lifetime. He loved to share stories about his life experiences and instantaneously drew in enamored audiences. He knew how to connect with people on a loving, personal level and never met a stranger he didn’t later call his friend.
He took a life with very little to call his own and many uncertainties and turned it into a true story of success.
Mohamad lived an incredible life full of family, love, and grace. He leaves us all with fond memories that we can share in his honor, and stories that we can repeat to celebrate his amazing life.
On this day of March 21, 2022, may we all gather with love and respect as we honor the greatest man who we are so fortunate to have called Husband, Father, Son, Uncle, Brother, Cousin and Friend.
May he forever rest in peace knowing his legacy continues to live on forever in our hearts.
A visitation for Mohamad will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077.
