Mireya was born to Francisco Ochoa and Maria Ochoa Rios on August 4th, 1955 in Mexico.
She was raised in a loving home with six brothers and three sisters whom she remained very close with throughout the years. On May 3rd, 1981, she married the love of her life, Armando Muniz, and together they moved to the United States where they made Pasadena, TX, their home. They were blessed with four children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, a loving home, and countless of beautiful memories.
Mireya was a godly woman who selflessly devoted her time and energy to being a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother; and although nurturing her family is what she was most passionate about, she also enjoyed gardening, reading, crafting, and decorating her home for every season and holiday.
Mireya is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Armando Muniz, her daughter and son-in-law, Erika and Eugene Hernandez, her son and daughter-in-law, Armando and Adriana Muniz, her son, Sylvestre Muniz, four brothers, three sisters, and her grandchildren, David, Stephanie, and Veronica Hernandez. She is also survived by countless cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Mireya is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Maria Ochoa, her brothers, Fernando and Jaime Ochoa, and her daughter, Janeth Muniz.
Pallbearers will be Armando Muniz Jr., Sylvestre Muniz, Eugene Hernandez, David Hernandez, Erin Flores, and Rosendo “Jovany” Flores Jr.
Visitation for Mireya will be held Friday, March 26th, from 5pm to 9pm at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home (6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023). The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 27th, at 9am at San Juan Diego Catholic Church (3301 Pasadena Blvd, Pasadena, TX 77503). The graveside service and burial will immediately follow at 11am at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery (6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023).
Mireya’s family would like to thank everyone for their continued thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Your loving words and acts of kindness will never be forgotten.
