Michael Lee Wright

He was born in Levelland, TX, to Nelda Jane and L.H. Wright on June 24, 1954. Michael grew up in the Sharpstown area of Houston where he attended Sharpstown High School. Being the eldest child he always protected his little brothers, Max Allen and Mitchell Gene.

Michael’s love for baseball led him to the ballpark quite often. He was a great pitcher and dreamed of the big leagues.

After graduation Michael attended business college and worked in the family business. Later, following his brother Max he went into the Houston Police Academy. He served for 29 years in the police department retiring January 4th of this year. During his tenure Michael worked in several divisions: patrol, gang unit, and as a detective in the homicide division. Sometimes on the cable channel you will see the story of the case Michael investigated.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Max Allen Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Sheree Wright, brother Mitchell (Renee) of Katy, TX, and his children Makala (Steve) Hewgley, Joshua Wright, and grandchildren Lorali Maxine, and Steven Zane Hewgley of Houston.

As an avid golfer and accomplished bowler Mike had many friends and will be missed by all.
