Michael James Wade was born in Victoria, Texas, as the first son of James Clyde and Ilee Wade on June 11, 1957. The family later moved to Houston, where Michael attended public schools, and his family joined Mt. Corinth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A. Louis Patterson, Jr.
Michael graduated from Evan Edward Worthing High School before completing a few college courses and beginning his career as a computer programmer at Baker Hughes. He worked primarily in their Houston office on Emmott Road and retired after 40 years of service.
Michael married Cynthia Jefferson Wade on April 8, 1983. To this union, two children were born, Brittany and Jordan Wade. He joined Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in November of 1990. He later joined Lakewood Church and was a proud member of the usher board.
Michael went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Clyde and Ilee; his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Cynthia; and sister, Thelma Ann Bankhead Wade.
He leaves to cherish his memory two adoring children, Brittany and Jordan; three brothers, Curtis (Denise), Gary (Toni), and David (Cherry); five nieces, Sonya, Natasha, Monique, Tanesha, Kelcey; nine nephews, DeMichael, Joseph, Odeis Christopher, Edgerine, Shawn, Quinnold, Gerrick, Courtney, and Rodney; three great-nieces, Kiara, Kameron, and Ma’Lijah; three great-nephews, Billy Parker Jr., Joshua, and Krystopher; one brother-in-law, Royce Craft; one sister-in-law, Vernita Gabriel; a doting girlfriend, Joyce McGowan; and a host of uncles, aunts, relatives, colleagues, and friends.
