With great sadness we announce the loss of our older brother Michael James Klett who passed away at the Cornerstone Long Term Acute Care hospital in Houston TX. He had been showing slight, but continued improvement after a serious motor vehicle accident early Thursday morning Oct 1st, 2020, amd there was hope he may possibly recover though it could take months or years. However, Friday Nov 13th, he took a turn for the worse and lost his fight on Wednesday 11-18-2020.
Michael James Klett was born in Thessaloniki Greece and adopted at 4 years of age by James Eugene Klett, a master Sargent in the United States Army, stationed in Greece and his wife Irene Ditha Lefrebre Klett. He was brought to and raised in the United States mostly in El Paso Texas where he graduated from Irvin High School in 1977. He married a short time after High school than moved to Houston right after his divorce in the early 80's. There he lived the rest of his life. Mike was a long-time employee of 30 plus years at Precision Flame Cutting, a subsidiary of the Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. where he was highly regarded and well liked.
In his leisure time, Mike liked playing music on his guitar, attending live music shows, was an avid gamer and enjoyed many other hobbies and interests.
Mike will always be remembered as one of the most laid back, easy going, friendly individuals you could meet. Always laughing and joking around, He was not a person who would get angry or ever mistreat anyone and would go out of his way to help others. It's hard to believe we will never get to laugh and joke around again with this jovial, generous individual who was always cheerful and always had a joke. It is also sad the world loses such a gentle, kind soul who would help anybody and was so well liked by his family, coworkers and friends.
As we prepare to say good bye to our brother, friend and coworker, we know Mike would say in passing, it's important not to take life or the lives of others for granted. Enjoy every day and the people you are close to. It's tough but these things happen. When all is said and done, you pick up and live your life the best you can. Every sunrise, every sunset, every laugh you share, every problem you help somebody with, every special moment, every mistake, every hurt and every joy, every hour of the day... it all matters because these are building blocks of your life and you only get so many of them.
Mike is survived by Brothers Christian J. Klett of Houston Texas and Andrew Klett of Leander Texas
