Merle Jean Moore

Merle Jean was born to Alfred and Travis Hinds on March 7, 1933. She married Gene Moore in 1951 and spent 58 years together.

She was preceded in death by Gene, her husband and parents Alfred and Travis. She is survived by their daughter Cindy Lea Kratz and Son-in-law Owen Kratz.

Merle Jean worked the graveyard shift as an assembly line worker for Anchor Hocking Glass Factory for many years. She also worked as a Secretary for a Christian Radio station and for North Shore Assembly of God Church.

Merle Jean has been very involved in support of Church activities. She was devout in her praise of God. She was known for being a “Prayer Warrior.” She is often remembered for simply telling you to “Just Say Jesus.” For a long time, Merle Jean has donated to her favorite charity, St. Jude Hospital for Children and one of her requests upon her passing was that others would donate to that charity in lieu of flowers.

A viewing will be held December 21, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Crossroads Fellowship Church, 12110 East Sam Houston Parkway North, Houston, Texas 77044.

The Funeral Service will be held at the same location on December 22, 2023, at 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

A 40-minute procession will follow for those that desire to attend the brief graveside ceremony at 12:00 pm. The gravesite is located at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023.
