Her early school years were spent in Peabody Kansas and at St John's Academy in Wichita. She moved to Houston, Texas with her family at age nine, where she attended Fannin Elementary School, followed by Lanier Jr. High and Milby High School. After graduation from high school she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter"in Sausalito, California helping to build ships during World War 2.
In 1945 she returned to Houston and attended the University of Houston. She met and married Roy Adelbert Drude in 1946 and they raised two children.
Maurine enjoyed working with the Girl Scouts and took several leadership roles in the organization. Her favorite activity was overnight camping with the girls and she loved to sew.
In 1968 Bennet Bishop came into her life. They married and enjoyed ten years together before his passing in 1977.
She met one of her best friends "Casey" in April of 2012. They enjoyed playing games, eating out, and just enjoying life. "Casey" passed in July of 2020.
She is survived by: Daughters Sharon Elizabeth Ramirez and Marcie Gay Timme. She also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren: James David Myers and wife Donna Myers, Madison Maurine Hughes and husband Brandon Hughes, Adrianne Wilson and Haley Elizabeth Rebecca Ramirez, as well as two great grandchildren, David Cole Myers and Wade James Hughes.
Nieces/Nephews/Cousins: Jody and Hank Adams, Katie Adams, Lisa and Andrew Lacey, Lenore and Laura Walker. Sister-in-Law Maureen Tucker and family, Sister Joyce Stenflo and family.
She was preceded in death by Bennet Bishop (spouse) Penny and Jim Trauth, (sister / brother-in-law) Alan Tucker (half brother).
Maurine worked at Shell Oil Company in Deer Park as a Senior Records Analyst, and was a member of the American Records Management Association. She retired in 1995 and spent the rest of her years enjoying her family and friends.
