Mary E. Turner

Mary Elizabeth Campbell Turner was born in Seguin, Texas to Clara Mae and Wallace Campbell on July 18, 1923. She attended Grade School and High School in Seguin Public Schools. Her education continued at Texas Lutheran College in Seguin for one year. Mary then entered Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Houston, graduating with honors in 1945. She worked for many years and in many capacities for the Memorial Hospital System then retired in 1986. Mary was a devoted patron of the Houston Symphony and Houston Grand Opera. She was an avid Astros fan and was thrilled to see them win the 2017 World Series. Mary was devoted to her family and many friends. Mary is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Lisa, and daughters Barbara and Karen; granddaughter Kendall Swendsen; nieces Linda Spacek and Naomi Young; nephew Mark Spacek and treasured friend, Carol Sims. The family would like to thank the staff at Treemont Healthcare Center and Vantage Hospice for kindness, compassion and care. A memorial service will be held 2:00pm at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
