Frances, I so love your spirit and if that is anything like your mother than I know personally I felt her touch.  Know that you have my support both personally and corporately. The Lord be with you and guide you and comfort you and the entire family. I have a large family so I fully and completely understand all that has been said about her. Carry her memory in your heart. "Lo, I am Always with you". Love is the unwavering bridge for all of humanity.  One day one step at a time. My thoughts and my prayers are with you.

Dear family,
Mom was a good and loving person. She was always there for us in good times and bad. I will always remember the times we all laughed, gathered, and mourned as a family. I mourn the loss of my mother and now I mourn the loss of my second mother. There are no words that I can say that will comfort you all at this time of need. All I know is that she is in heaven looking down at us and walking in the garden with our Lord.

Momentos únicos e irrepetibles pasé a lado de mi gran amiga Mary Soto,son muchos y los guardo como parte de mi vida porque Dios me permitió conocerla y aprender de ella y le doy muchas gracias a Él por la vida de tan bella señora. Con mucho cariño la recuerdo y seguirá en mi corazón hasta que deje de latir.Siempre tendrá un lugar especial para mí, seguiré extrañandola, pasamos ratos muy gratos juntas, como ver fotografías, ir a jugar bingo juntas, donde pasamos buen tiempo junto a sus amigos de Chicano en el centro de Magnolia. Estuvo conmigo y me tuvo paciencia y pasamos la última etapa de su vida juntas,Descanse en Paz mi gran amiga Mrs Mary C Soto. Dios les de fortaleza a su hermosa familia y muchas gracias por todo !! Siempre los tuvo presentes cada día que convivió conmigo, se fue amandoles!! I remember when Mary first came to this country in the mid fifties. Her and Duke lived in the shotgun houses by JR Harris. She be dressed in her mexican skirt and white blouse. Her hair braided like the women you see in the movies.  Every meal she cook beans and stack of tortillas. I remember asking my mother “is that all she can cook”. Boy I was wrong. Every holiday we all gathered together as one family. Back in the late fifties,early sixties. They had a TV show on thirteen or channel eleven.  Where people would save coupons from milk cartons. Mary and my Mom would save them all year. Around Xmas times. They would volunteer me to go on TV to bid on the toys. Every New Year’s Eve.  We would  gather at the Soto house. Everybody would pitch in to make buñuelos and big ol pot of Mexican chocolate. By midnight the buñuelos were split. The pot of chocolate gone. But we were one big family. When the word family meant just that. Mary Rest In Peace. Now my mom has someone to chisme with. Like the old days. 

Condolences to your family.  There will never be any words to ease your pain, loss and grief, nor will you ever get over the loss.  Family and friends will be there supporting you through it.  I pray for peace, comfort, and understanding.  While Mrs. Soto is no longer here in the physical world, her love, spirit, aurora lives within each of you. I pray  that the love she showed the world is felt by her family always, but especially during this difficult time.   Praying for all of you.                                

There are no lessons about 'The Art of Mothering' we can only do our best and hope that we do it well. My mother certainly got an A +++ in this.
She was a caring, supportive, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, Tia, and friend. Yet she was not shy and unassuming and always said of herself "I am just a housewife" at times. No, she was not. She was a homemaker in the true sense of the word. Every room in our home had doilies she made that decorated the tables.  On New Year’s Eve, she made her famous Bunuelos that were laid to dry on every table and bed around the house. She made sure everyone knew how to stretch those tortillas to her liking by laying them on their knee. She made her famous Pappas and of course those delicious Pancakes for breakfast. Mom taught each of us how to enjoy life by dancing and drinking our ice-cold beers at times taking a shot or two.  But she was the queen of throwing parties whether it was for birthdays, Easter (famous egg toss) or New Year she always went all out. She rode slides, rollercoasters, trains, seesaws, climbed monkey bars, ran in potato sacks, and went swimming with her grandkids. Mom never said no when it came to her grandkids they were her own pot of gold.   We always had hot meals although we were financially poor growing up she showed us the importance of working and paying bills first.  We never went hungry and we were always dressed to the T.  The quality of our lives as children (10)   was rich with her love and warmth. 
I have lost my wonderful mother, companion, adviser and mentor. I am so honored to have been her daughter. I am grieving for the amazing relationship I had with her. We have all suffered a huge loss but we will get thru this as a family.
She taught us all what is most important in life to always say “I Love You” and when you arrive/ depart from someone/home to make sure to kiss and hug them cause as she used to say “you never know you may not see them again.” 
Thank you to everyone for support. 

Soto Family, You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. May the Lord give you comfort and strength for the days ahead.  We love you and are here for you.  De Luna family

I have so many fond memories.  Trips to vegas-playing bingo which was hilarious trying to keep up with 10 bingo cards.  Hanging out at her house having game night on Fridays.  Going to festivals and Rodeo cook off.  My dancing partner.  Having someone to talk to when my mom was not able to.  Love you Mrs. Soto!  I will also remember your laughter.  Now you can Rest In Peace and dance up in Heaven.
